Tímaritið WineSpectator gaf þessum 1997 árgangnum einkunnina 91-Spectator Selection og þessa umsögn: „Tightly wound, with jammy currant and berry flavors that are graced by all kinds of spicy, chocolaty, toasty overtones. This red from Washington has an austere feel to it right now, mostly from the zippy acidity, but there is also a plushness that can grow with cellaring through 2000 or 2005.“
